Headland Middle School students learn gang resistance training

They teamed up with Headland police to donate 1,200 pounds of food to local food banks. They also held a bake sale to raise money for the Wiregrass Area United Way. The activities are part of GREAT, or Gang Resistance Education and Training Program, which is teaching students to avoid gangs and violence in the community. Headland Police Lt. Dennis Cobb said, "It teaches kids about how to resist gangs and violence and the peer pressure that comes with it." Friday, students participated in musical chairs as a reward for helping their community.
