MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. (AP) - A Baldwin County judge has denied bond for two teenagers charged with capital murder in the death of a Bon Secour man found stabbed and beaten in his trailer home Dec. 22.

Cortez LeVance Porter, 19, of Foley and 18-year-old Floyd Cardale Casey of Magnolia Springs were charged in the death of 52-year-old Edward Wayne McCrory. Robbery appeared to be the motive, authorities said.

District Judge Jody Bishop denied bond during a hearing Wednesday in Bay Minette.

District Attorney Judy Newcomb said a hammer, rake handle and a knife were used to beat and stab McCrory to death on County Road 49. McCrory's landlord found the body Dec. 22.

Casey's attorney, Spencer Davis of Fairhope, and Porter's attorney, Brian Dasinger, did not immediately return a phone message for comment Wednesday.

A conviction could bring a death sentence or life in prison without parole.
