BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A Jefferson County sheriff's investigator said a Graysville teen admitted he killed his mother before pointing an empty gun at his grandfather and pulling the trigger several times.
Investigator Jake Money said in a preliminary hearing Tuesday that 17-year-old Jamie Lee Wallace told authorities he would have shot his grandfather if he "wouldn't have been stupid and used up all them' bullets on his mother."
But the teen's father says medication he was taking for mental
problems played a role in the March shooting of 39-year-old
Michelle Ann Wallace in front of her 8-year-old son.
Money testified that Wallace said he was mad because he believed
his mother had told lies that prevented him from helping his
grandfather with yard work.
Intentional murder and attempted murder charges were bound to a
grand jury.
