MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Officials have found a Decatur inmate
who escaped from a minimum security lockup and arrested his
grandmother for allegedly giving him food, money and cigarettes.
Corrections spokesman Brian Corbett said Wednesday that
24-year-old Jonathan Fulmer was found Tuesday afternoon. He ran
away from the Decatur Community Work Center on Friday.
Authorities received tips that Fulmer was at a relative's
Hartselle home. Fulmer fled into nearby woods as police approached
but was quickly caught.
Corbett said Fulmer's grandmother, Dianne Murphy, was arrested
and charged with hindering the investigation. He said she was
observed taking food to Fulmer at the house.
Fulmer was serving time for robbery, burglary, receiving stolen
property and for escaping from the Morgan County Jail in 2007.
He is now at the Limestone Correctional Facility near Athens.
