Governors of Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi announced the creation of an aerospace and aviation corridor from Panama City, Florida, to Louisiana.

The announcement was made at Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette Monday.

This inter-state collaboration will reportedly allow business, government and civic leaders to combine resources, funds and manpower for lobbying efforts and help secure the KC-45 aerial tanker program for the region.

"It's the best plane. It's the best price. There's no question. And if it's going to be just strictly based on politics then we need to get involved. That's the reason we set up this alliance so we can start talking about what it does for the area, not just for Mobile, not just for Baldwin County,” says Governor Bob Riley.

If the KC-45 aircraft is selected, the tankers will be assembled in Mobile, bringing 78,000 jobs to the area.
