Montgomery police are combing a Lee County landfill, searching for the body of an infant that may be there.
Police say a woman in her mid-20s showed up at her doctor's
office on Oct. 19 and was about to deliver a baby.
Police say she refused to have the baby then and signed a waiver before she left the doctor's office.
Officers say she showed up at a hospital a week or so later
complaining about a cold.
She was not pregnant and the doctor called the police, who brought
the woman in and interviewed her.
Police say the woman claims she miscarried.
Montgomery police say they're looking at the possibility that the
baby was delivered and put in the trash.
They say there are no charges in the case.
