CLANTON, Ala. (AP) - A Chilton County jury has convicted a
28-year-old man in the deaths of a Maplesville man and his
3-year-old son who died when their home was set on fire.
The jury convicted James Linden Sheffield of murdering Charles
"Chucky" Edward Morrow II.
Sheffield was also convicted of manslaughter in the death of 3-year-old Charles Edward Morrow III.
Morrow and his son died when their one-story wood frame home
caught fire around on Dec. 10, 2003.
Prosecutors alleged that Sheffield set the blaze after a disagreement with Morrow over missing bulldog puppies.
Sheffield's attorney, Robert Bowers, declined to comment after
the verdict.
Sheffield will be sentenced next month.
