A local church came up with a unique way to chat with the big guy in the sky on Saturday.
The Ark Christian Ministry Center and Overcomers in Christ outreach ministries placed prayers inside a helium-filled balloon.
They then released them over Dothan en-mass.
This is the inaugural "Balloons Over Dothan" event.
Everyone in attendance was asked to pray as the balloons took off into the sky.
Admission was free and everyone was invited to participate in the celebration.
“We're hoping to do this every year but we want to bring awareness for the need of prayer in Dothan and really all over the world. Everybody needs to come to know our lord and savior Jesus Christ. So our main and primary mission is that we go and make disciples,” said James Pierson of the Ark Christian Ministry Center.
The Ark Christian Ministry Center is located on West Main Street in Dothan.
