I was surprised to see just how many oper the counter drugs contain Acetaminophen and how easy it would be to combine them. So I thought I'd provide you with a list of those drugs. According to pharmacist Bill Roberts at SAMC, as long as you take under 4 grams (4000 mg) total in 24 hours, you are safe. Acetaminophen (APAP) is a common component of many different over-the-counter and prescription medications. You should not take two or more products that contain acetaminophen at the same time. I take no less than 10 aspirin free extra strength excedrin each day for pain management and have done so for more than 13 years. I've had my liver tested twice and my tests have appeared fine. I doubt there are many who take as much acetaminophen as I do and I would be interested to see some studies on people who do take a lot and learn of their results. |
