The massive legislative move to overhaul health care cleared the House over the weekend, but it seems to have little support in the Senate. As News 4 reported at 5pm, moderate Democrats and Republicans are resistive, especially given the “public option.” The House version of the bill is estimated to cost 1.2 trillion dollars and abortion opponents are also speaking out in the Senate, calling for tougher restrictions. Welcome Skylar to the Wiregrass we hope your opportunties grow every day. Now for Health care reform, This is probably the most important thing to be decided in Washington in years yet it is being thrown around like a football. The solution to it would be to make everyone eligible for medicare and the poor for medicaid. Problem solved, Hey they continue to print money for everything including wars, florists, girlfriends, limos and whatever elses pops up for these politicians minds. I say they can print a little bit more for the people who are paying for all their perks. While I am at it, I think everyone in Congress and the Senate should be required to volunteer their services and be paid a small daily travel expense from their homes to their positions in Washington, along with perhaps a small living allowance while on the job to and from their homes and while conducting this countries business. We would get rid of the gravy train that has been milked for years this way. Posted by: Don Location: Dothan Too much government involvement destroys democracy. I am not in favor of government involvement in reform. If reform comes it will be when the healthcare industry and the attorneys cap such ridiculous monetary awards in the court system. |
