First off, NO Tim Tebow did NOT change water into wine or feed the entire 900+ media members with only a single fish and a loaf of bread. He was polite, upbeat and yelled "Big Interview, Big Interview!!...RIGHT HERE! I cannot be stopped!" That's an inside youtube joke, feel free to search. Anyway, the Day was exactly as I anticipated. Swarming fans, media, some token smiles and answers from a couple of coaches, others with insightful quips. Georgia defensive lineman Jeff Owens made the most of it by bringing along his own video camera to record us videotaping him. Kudos. Nick Saban came out and said his team has a bullseye on its back. First time he's acknowledged they're the team to beat in the West since he's been in T-town. Ole Miss QB Jevan Snead looked like a deer in headlights (it was his first media days experience, so he gets a pass--it is pretty intimidating) Apparently Urban Meyer's running a ridiculous boot-camp of an off-season program at Florida. Tebow said it was THE toughest he's endured since he's been in Gainsville. Personally, I think Meyer's now just toying with his team, seeing how much they can take before they break. Gotta stay focused coming off that Nat'l title! ESPN sightings--Joe Schad and Pat Forde. No Jesse Palmer this year. Darn. Maybe he's found socks to wear with his shoes by now. Oh, no Erin Andrews either. Always a disappointment when she's not there. More to come tomorrow! Kiffin, Spurrier, Chizik and Miles. Plus we find out which one of them did NOT vote for Tebow for first team All-SEC |
