 Wow.That's the first word out of my mouth after watching Auburn come back to beat West Virginia. Not only did they do it by going away from what got them their first two victories (the run), but they also overcame the defense getting shredded for over 500 yards by the Mountaineers' offense. Wow. Chris Todd threw for 300 yards and 4TDs. Makes you wonder if his arm had been this healthy last season if things would have turned out differently. Maybe Tubs would still be on the sidelines at Jordan-Hare rather than on the sidelines at the Troy/UAB game as a spectator. Yes, he really was there on Saturday. We have video evidence. Anyways, obviously I'm not gonna jump the gun on how good Auburn can be this year. We don't know how good WVU really is. Plus the SEC schedule looms and bad things can happen. But the effort, the discipline, and the cohesiveness are there. The talent is there with the first unit, too. And the defense has some work to do to shore things up. Can't JUST rely on the big play. However, I'm as curious as the next guy to see how this season plays out. The two road games in early October in Knoxville and Fayetteville, I think, will determine the difference between another losing season and one that surpasses expectations. Wow. |
