Man dies after lightning strike

MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A man who took a direct lightning
strike in Brevard County has died.
The man was hit by the lightning Wednesday afternoon as he tried
to get out of the water on Melbourne Beach in central Florida.
CPR was administered and he was taken to a hospital, where he
was pronounced dead. No further information was immediately
available on the man.
A Brevard County Fire and Rescue spokesman says another person
also was hit by lightning on Melbourne Beach. That person too was
taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
