The Princess Diana memorial trust and the Franklin Mint have agreed to a $25 million settlement of their dispute over a plate bearing the image of the late princess.
The fund sued the mint in 1998 to stop it from producing a commemorative plate of Diana. It was dismissed.
In 2002, the mint sued the fund, saying the trademark suit was brought maliciously.
The case was settled days before the mint's lawsuit was set for trial in Los Angeles.
The memorial fund will now pay $25 million toward charitable causes favored by the princess, such as land mine removal and helping AIDS victims.
The fund was established to handle the $34 million donated after Diana's death in a 1997 Paris car crash.
