A Dothan police officer was injured in a traffic accident Wednesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Headland Avenue.
Police say motorcycle patrolman Tony Franks was north bound on Headland Avenue when a car pulled out from a side street in front of him.
Franks struck the front of that car before making contact with another vehicle as he slid to a stop.
The police officer was transported to a Dothan hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the car that pulled out in front of him also complained of injuries but police say no one was seriously hurt.
The accident remains under investigation.
