A woman and her unborn child were shot and killed after violence spilled onto Church Street in Blakely, Georgia and authorities say the killer is still at large.

Authorities say a verbal fight taking place inside the club known as Pokey’s turned into a violent fiasco.

After more people stepped into the altercation, fights broke out into the street, in front of an auto shop and Club 92.

NFL Player Charles Grant of the New Orleans Saints was caught in the middle of the violence and was stabbed in the neck.

Early County Chief Investigator Will Caudill says, "Sometime after the Malay, one assault occurred on Mr. Grant and then we believe around the same time or shortly after, there were shots fired."

One of those bullets took the life of 23-year-old Korynda Reed of Blakely, who was about 5 months pregnant, and was believed to be innocently passing by at the time.

Residents of Church Street preferred not to speak on camera, but are disturbed that such a tragedy occurred in their neighborhood.

"We routinely receive calls about disturbances in that area," said Chief Investigator Caudill.

Investigators are unsure what weapons were used for the stabbing and the shooting; they're hoping an autopsy on Reed's body will give them more answers.

Chief Investigator Caudill added, "Right now, we're trying to piece together everything that happened. Once we feel like we have a handle on what happened and who is responsible for what, then we'd make a determination on the charges."

It’s a possibility that the district attorney assigned to the case will charge the person responsible with double murder for the death of Ms. Reed and her unborn baby.

Grant was treated and released from the hospital.

Many people were questioned, but the sheriff and investigators have been receiving conflicting stories. At this time, no one is in custody.

The sheriff's department is urging the public to come forward with any information.

If you know anything about what happened early Sunday morning on Church Street in Blakely, you are asked to contact the Early County Jail at 229-723-3150.

As for the mother and unborn child. The mother shouldn't have been near any bars.
