Florida Governor Jeb Bush has signed a bill that requires physicians to tell parents when a minor daughter seeks an abortion.

The law takes effect on July first and applies to girls 17 and under, who aren't married and don't already have children.

The law has exceptions. Girls can seek judicial waivers based on their level of maturity. Waivers can also be sought when there has been parental abuse -- or informing parents would not be in the minor's best interest.

The US Supreme Court will review a parental notice law in its next term.
