After the Houston County Commission approved construction plans for the Country Crossing Entertainment Complex, citizens are raising concerns about charity bingo.
The commission assures residents that all proceeds from charity bingo will go to charities in Houston County.
Players will also have to play on a 5 by 5 grid and must play against actual opponents, not the house.
Chairman Mark Culver says the commission will address citizen concerns so they feel comfortable about the project.
"There will be a Houston County charitable foundation set up; that will be the operating entity for the operation. Then that organization will fund the money to other organizations in the community," said Culver.
The operator of each bingo game must be a charity, and after the winners and the expenses are paid, the remaining funds go back into the community charities.
