A Wiregrass man has been found guilty of attempted murder.

Lonnie Dixon, 38, was found guilty after seven hours of deliberation from the Dale County jury.

It's in regards to his attempted murder of a Rucker Boulevard cannon store clerk.

Dixon was also found guilty of robbery in the first degree for his robbery of the store with a deadly weapon.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Bill Filmore said that the only thing that Dixon left the store with was a 12 pack of beer.

Dixon is a registered sex offender.

Dixon remains in the Dale County Jail pending his sentencing at a later date.
