Fort Rucker's Lyster Army Community Hospital will open the Wiregrass outpatient clinic this Friday at 11:30 AM.
It will provide better service for the growing veteran community in the Wiregrass area.
In August of 2007 Central Alabama Veterans Affairs system announced the signing of an expanded sharing agreement with Lyster Army health clinic on Fort Rucker.
This lead to the opening of a new outpatient care clinic, as well as the simultaneous opening of a new contract to operate a community based outpatient clinic in Dothan.
As a result many of the veterans in the Wiregrass region will soon no longer have to drive to veterans medical centers in Montgomery, or Tuskegee for primary services like X-ray, laboratory work, optometry consultations or pharmacy support.
