Dothan's Long Range Development Plan
The city of Dothan is looking to move forward on a new project. The problem is, they need you to help them get started. Dothan's planners will be giving you the chance to come up with what's next for the city. Reporter: Erica ProfferEmail Address: erica@wtvy.com |

In order to keep Dothan expanding, and in order to meet your needs now, Dothan leaders are coming up with a long range development plan.
However, that plan is missing one thing: your input.
"This will be our marching order. This will be the direction we see the citizens want us to take to make Dothan what they wish," says Long Range Planner Steve Spry.
In a series of public forums, it's up to you to tell Dothan planners what you like, what you want, and what will help Dothan grow.
During four public forums, you will see slides, where you choose what type landscape you prefer.
You will also watch a video showing other U.S. towns.
"I hope to educate folks to what their community can be. We have grown incrementally. Things have happened incrementally and those little changes add up to big changes. I think that as a community, if we decided we like that, then that's fine. I'm not here to change that. I want people to understand there's another way to appreciate it," says Tom McDonald, Dothan's Planning and Development director.
"There's no monetary limit at this point. The monetary limit will come when we go to the commission and they say yea or nay," adds Spry.
Planners say a draft could be made as early as this fall.
If so, that could ideally put the plan up for an ordinance adoption as early as next spring.
However, that's something that will be determined after you have your say.
Here is a look at where the public forums will be held:
City leaders say you are invited to attend any forum, even if it's not your district.
