Law enforcement agencies statewide are about to undertake a seat-belt safety blitz. The Southeast Alabama Safety Office formally kicked-off the campaign at Enterprise-Ozark Community College.

Project coordinator Greg Adams says more than 50 agencies across ten Wiregrass counties will participate.

More than a dozen area police chiefs, along with enterprise high school driver's education students were on hand.

Adams says the statistics tell the tale.

Even though seat belt usage is up nationwide, the numbers are way down for teens and those driving at night.

The seat-belt blitz gets underway this Monday and will continue through June 1st.
