Saturday, a massive group effort was made to restore Pine Hills Park...

"This was a park that was due some attention. The neighbors know it, the city knows it, and they had special requests- on of those were to build a playground." Kim Meeker\ Dothan leisure services (MALE)

Thanks to “Kaboom!”- An organization that helps build playgrounds for children-- the city was able to come up with creative ideas for a modern playground.

"We were named playful city U.S.A. and they gave materials on how they've build one thousand playgrounds across their country to use to organize their own playground builds." Kim Meeker\Dothan leisure services

a goal was set for the entire project to be finished in one day, so there was plenty of work to e done.

Neighborhood residents are happy to see a new edition to the park because its something their children can enjoy.

City volunteers also see the playground as a positive place for children to spend their time.

the park was finished at 2:00 this afternoon, but its not ready for play yet... It will be a couple of days before the concrete dries.

organizers say they will be putting in a mini basketball and soccer field, as well as re-paving the tennis court at pine hills within the next couple of months.
