Geneva Mayor Karen Simmons and several city representatives will soon welcome a prospective industry.

Mayor Simmons did not give any details to the city council, but she said the "unnamed" business would create a number of new jobs in Geneva and the surrounding area.

Since thousands of textile jobs moved overseas a decade ago, Geneva continues to diversify its economic base.

Mayor Simmons says recruiting a business is a very competitive process.

She hopes to have an answer from the prospective industry in a few weeks.
