Andalusia attorney Leeland Enzor, Jr. has been appointed special probate judge for Covington County by Alabama Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb.
The post became vacant last week when Probate Judge Sherrie Phillips was indicted for allegedly stealing more than 1.8 million dollars.
Enzor will remain in office at least until the charges against Phillips are resolved.
If Phillips is convicted or pleads guilty, the governor would appoint a replacement.
