The Farley Nuclear Power Plant Unit-1 reactor is operating on reduced power Tuesday because of generator problems.

Plant officials say when a diesel generator was taken off-line for routine maintenance, a back-up generator failed to operate properly.

Federal guidelines require the nuclear plant to shut-down the reactor and be on standby for an 8-hour period.

Farley officials have not announced when Unit-1 will be operating again at full power.
