Alabama public school's Adequate Yearly Progress report cards came out Monday, as a state the performance rate is has climbed slightly.
83-percent of schools in the state reached all 100 goals required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
However, a number of high schools in the Wiregrass area fell into the 17-percent that have not reached AYP.
Those schools include Abbeville, Ariton, Carroll, Dale County, Daleville, Dothan, Elba, Enterprise, Geneva, G.W. Long, Headland, Houston County, Northview and Wicksburg.
This is the 4th year in a row that Dothan High School and Northview have failed to reach AYP goals.
If they do not meet AYP next year the state could replace school staff, remove principals' decision-making authority and take over the board of education.
