Authorities in Barbour County continue to search for answers after a 69-year-old Clio man was found disheveled and delirious on the side of a road.
Officials believe the man may have been abducted, tied up, and left for dead.
Pushing through trees and branches has been keeping Barbour County deputies busy for the past couple of days.
They're searching for answers to an alleged abduction and robbery Sunday afternoon.
Barbour Co. Sheriff's Dept. Asst. Chief Eddie Ingram said, "We were notified yesterday afternoon about a passing motorist that had come upon a white male, an elderly white male in a ditch off of a dirt road in the northern part of Barbour County."
Asst. Chief Ingram says 69-year-old Jerry Kendrick was traveling back from Troy to Clio when two suspects asked him for a ride to Midway.
"He said that while they were on the road that one of the gentlemen produced a handgun and forced them to drive to a wooded area off of Poplar Springs Road," Asst. Chief Eddie Ingram said.
Kendrick told deputies he was then tied up and left in the woods.
Authorities estimate Kendrick was left there for 24 hours before he was found on the side of the road about three miles from his car.
Officials say they do not have many leads on the case and don't have any suspects.
They're asking for your help in finding those involved.
"He said they were two young black males, 17-20 years old, but he really couldn't go with any further description," Asst. Chief Eddie Ingram concluded.
Kendrick suffered minor cuts and bruises from the incident.
Authorities aren't sure if his injuries were inflicted by the suspects.
They say he could have sustained those injuries from walking through the thick woods nearby.
Kendrick’s vehicle was found Tuesday.
