Wiregrass area Patriot Guard Riders, along with other volunteer riders, gathered in Hartford Saturday to pay their respects to a fallen hero.
"Most of these people are retirees- veterans, and its something that we can do for fellow veterans." says Huey Jackson, a Patriot Guard Rider.

19 year old Kirby Zorn lost his life august 8th after being involved in a tragic motorcycle accident.
According to “Memory.com” Zorn graduated in 2007 from Kinston high school in Alabama
Both of his parents are employees of army fleet support and machinists union members of the Fort Rucker contract.
John Martin a Volunteer of the Southern Riders says “I hope his family sees support that is given, the wiregrass cares about this, and we want a good turn out for it."

And even though Zorn died in a motorcycle accident, patriot guard riders say they are aware of the dangers, and they hope other drivers are aware of them.
"All of us ride motorcycles for the enjoyment of it and in support of veterans, but we are all well aware of the dangers involved, not from the motorcycle but from other vehicles or the elements." says Jackson.

No matter what the circumstances may be, the patriot guard riders are there to pay respects to America’s soldiers.
"We want to show them respect that sometimes in the past, they may not have received, but they are serving our country so we can have our freedom, and showing them respect is just the right thing to do." Says Jimmy Shiver, a Senior Ride Captain
Zorn was actually featured in "making marines"- a news4 special series about an inside look at Paris Island’s Marine training camp. It aired last February.
