PHENIX CITY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities were trying to determine the identity of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car in Phenix City at the start of the holiday weekend.
Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said the incident happened on U.S. 431 South.
He said the woman appeared to be in her late 40s or early 50s and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 9:14 p.m. Friday.
Sumbry said anyone who may be able to identify the woman should call Phenix City police at 334-298-0611.
