The nation's number one retailer has awarded a second-year teacher at New Brockton Elementary as one of the state's finest.
Jamie Wilhelm has been named the area Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year. The Troy native was recognized for displaying a unique ability to understand the needs of her students, and working hard to help them meet their goals.
Mrs. Wilhelm says teaching fifth-grade is a tremendously rewarding. She enjoys seeing the academic and social growth of the kids.
Wal-Mart presented Mrs. Wilhelm with a $1,000 check for New Brockton Elementary. In addition, she received a $100 Wal-Mart gift card to use in the classroom.
