Dale County schools are among the list of those crossing their fingers to make payroll for the month.
School officials say for the past couple of months they have been dipping into their general fund to make payroll.
Dale County schools are among others, like Henry County, who are pinching every penny to stay above water.
"We just have to be careful on how we spend and what we spend it on and we can't forget that its the tax payers money and it need to go, most of it needs to go right back for the students right back to the classroom," says Dale County Superintendent Phillip Parker.
School officials say they do not foresee the problem getting any better in the future.
