The man investigators suspect of shooting at a couple early Monday morning in Fountain, Fla has been taken into custody by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Z. Rivera is suspected of shooting Paul Wynn multiple times at Wynn’s home on Morrow Road around 6:00. Wynn’s wife fled the home and even though Rivera shot at her several times she was not hit.
She managed to get to a nearby relative’s home where a 911 call was placed. Paul Wynn and his wife, Lucinda, are still at a local hospital. Rivera and the couple have had a long term friendly relationship that has just recently soured because of an argument.
Information was developed that Wynn might be at 11617 Owenwood Road, just minutes from the home on Morrow Road where the incident occurred.
Deputies and investigators arrived at the residence at about 12:30 and within minutes Rivera’s girlfriend arrived, allowed authorities to search the home, and then admitted Rivera was in the woods surrounding the home.
Rivera surrendered to deputies after she called out to him to come out of the woods. A search of the surrounding area revealed a Highpoint 9mm rifle-- the firearm investigators believe to have been used in the shooting-- concealed under a storage shed.
Rivera has been arrested and charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
