His staff is saying President Bush will stay out of the California recall campaign, but he's making it clear he approves of Arnold Schwarzenegger's candidacy.
Bush says he thinks Schwarzenegger would make a good governor, but the president jokes he wouldn't arm-wrestle the former body builder.
Bush says he thinks the California political situation is interesting and acknowledges he's watching closely.
Bush maintains that, "the people of California will sort all this out."
Bush travels through California for two days next week. White House aides say it is very unlikely the president will try to promote Schwarzenegger's candidacy.
