The Patriot Guard Riders presented a check for $3,672 to the Wiregrass Honor Flight during Tuesday's Dothan city commission meeting.
The money will go towards sending the veterans to the nation's capital to see the World War II memorial.
The Patriot Guard Riders support veterans’ families by giving flags, providing escorts and protecting family members from radical groups at military funerals.
The date for the first Honor Flight is Saturday, May 9, 2009.
Approximately 100 veterans plus their guardians will go to Washington, D. C.
