The quick actions of Coffee County correctional officers prevented a potential tragedy over the weekend.

Authorities are trying to find out which inmate used a flammable material to start a mattress on fire in cell block number two.

Jail personnel were able to put out the flames without any injury to either staff or the prisoners.

The fire led to several hours of lock down in the Coffee County Jail.

Officials say a few inmates were not pleased with their meal that night, which may have prompted the arson.
