The Community Intensive Training for Youth program or CITY has recently been on a close edge to closing its program because of funding.
For decades CITY has been helping troubled youth continue their education and stay out of juvenile detention.
Thanks to a legislative appropriation of one-million dollars, it will stay open until September 30th.
It will then be placed in the hands of the Alabama Department of Youth Services.
