Seventy soldiers from the Florida National Guard’s 144th Transportation Company will soon deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
This Sunday, family and friends will gather at the Marianna Armory to give their good wishes to the soldiers.
The unit last deployed to Iraq several years ago and returned in June of 2005.
During that tour, two soldiers were awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the war and 14 were awarded the Bronze Star.
