At least 5 injured by fireworks in Birmingham
Fireworks festivities from the Fourth of July weekend has resulted in some injuries.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Fireworks festivities from the Fourth of July weekend has resulted in some injuries.
UAB Hospital spokeswoman Gail Short said Sunday that the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham treated five patients who were hurt in fireworks accidents over the weekend.
Short cited federal privacy laws in declining to elaborate on the injuries.
A Children's Hospital spokesman said at least one of the patients being treated at Callahan had been transferred from the hospital.
