Area authorities take more illegal drugs off our streets during the holiday weekend.
Abbeville police arrested 35-year-old Cecil Chambers after a routine traffic stop on Highway 431.
Authorities say they confiscated more than 10-pounds of marijuana.
The drug has a street value of more than $30,000.
Officer Jesse Ingram says chambers admitted he was driving the drugs to Dothan to sell them.
"I think as the economy gets worse the drugs get worse. There is a lot of a drug out there," says Officer Ingram.
Chambers is charged with trafficking marijuana.
He's being held in the Henry County jail on a $60,000 bond.
