Earlier Wednesday, sources indicated to News 4 that Midland City Police Chief Keith Rinehardt was relieved of his duty by Mayor Virgil Skipper.
News 4 was able to find Rinehardt as he was cleaning out his police cruiser; he confirmed that he and the mayor had an argument over painting the vehicle.

In response to the city claim that he was resigned, Reinhardt said he has proof that his version of the conversation is the accurate one.
We'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
