Panama City Police have arrested an Army soldier and charged him with lewd and lascivious battery on a child under the age of 16.

Nineteen-year-old Derrick Broxton was visiting family in Panama City while on leave from the U.S. Army.

Police say he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl at a local motel on December 26th & 27th.

Broxton returned shortly after the incident to his military post in Kansas.

He was arrested at the post and is awaiting extradition back to Bay County where he will make his first court appearance.
