The 48-hour challenge was a test of endurance, skill and teamwork.
The troy team not only won its division, but outpaced schools in the larger division.
The teams competed by land and by sea in events ranging from night land navigation and rifle shooting to water obstacles, a confidence course, and a 10-kilometer "ruck run" with 35 pound backpack and battle gear.
Ranger Challenge Captain Josh Joseph said, “We trained three to four months prior everyday. We woke up at 5:30 and did extra pt while everyone was sleeping. We came out on weekends and did training to prepare ourselves to compete against the other schools and I think all that training helped us to do well in the competition."
This is the first year the Troy ROTC has placed first in this competition.
