Willie Brown, Principal at Landmark Elementary School, was recently awarded the "2009 Outstanding Administrator in Reading Award" by the Alabama Reading Association in Birmingham at the Alabama Reading Association 41st Annual Fall Conference.
Mr. Brown has been instrumental in the school's continued reading test score improvements.
According to the Spring 2009 ARMT (Alabama Reading & Math Test) scores, Landmark Elementary School improved from 85% in 2007-2008 to 88.5% in2008-2009, from 77% in 2007-2008 to 95% in 2008-2009 in 4th grade reading scores, and from 70% in 2007-2008 to 90.5% in 2008-2009 in 5th grade reading scores.
