Officials say a person telephones a citizen and tells them they have won a gift card from Wal-Mart.
The person then states that there is a small processing fee to activate the card.
This fee could be as little as one dollar.
The caller asks the person for their debit card or credit card numbers to process.
Wal-Mart has advised that this is a scam.
Do not give any information to anyone calling on the phone.
