M and J Beauty Supply on Reeves Street was robbed at gunpoint around 7 o'clock Thursday evening.
Dothan Police are searching the robbery suspect.
Corporal Doug Magill with the Dothan Police Department said the culprit was a, "Black male dressed in all black with a red t-shirt over a long black shirt; [he] entered the business at closing time, held a gun up to an employee and demanded money."
The suspect then gathered money from the register and took off on foot away from the business.
Police have reason to believe this suspect may be related to other area crimes.
Corporal Magill added, "It is early in the investigation, but some of the physical descriptions on the current suspect are similar to other cases."
Police are following several leads and are determined to make an arrest in this case.
"It's our job as members of the police department and community to try to put a stop to this," Corporal Magill continued.
There is no surveillance video of the crime, so police are hoping the public will help them break this case.
“Any tips the public gives us helps,” Corporal Magill said. “There are a lot of cases the public helps on. Some may have driven by the block of Reeves Street and saw a car speed out away from the building; any kind of tips from citizens help us tremendously.
Police do not believe other parties are involved in Thursday night’s robbery.
If you have any information on Thursday evening's robbery, you may call Crime Stoppers at 793-7000.
Remember, you may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
