It’s that time of year again” Black Friday” or the “retail Olympics”
While it may be the same old song and dance, it's never a dull story.
"I got here at 3:30 in the afternoon what and I will probably a laptop" said Dawn Carrol, who was 1st in line at Best Buy.
People started lining outside of Target just after midnight waiting to get their big items like TVs and toys, but even when the line died down on the outside, people were wrapped around inside waiting to be checked out at the register.
"This is a hectic day of shopping it is like a sport for me. Our whole group divides our lists, especially at Walmart. It was pretty dangerous today" said Manda Martini, a shopper.
That's what most people say about black Friday but when it comes down to it, the day is a positive day for retailers.
"All retail companies today want to turn around and go into the black which basically means we are making money again" said Brian Bradshaw, one of the Best Buy managers.
This year your typical hot items were up for grabs at low prices- things like laptops, iPods, TVs, GPS units and of course- video games.
"Prices have dropped on the Nintendo Wii a few months ago but console prices tend to stay the same every year. We always add a large bundle to go with it and that is what a lot of the companies have added" said Bradshaw.
And if you aren't into electronics, there is always another big craze.
"Snuggies are the best. I would use one everyday" said Noah Medford, a black Friday shopper.
