Twenty-seven-year-old Xavien Maurice Moore of Madrid was caught with 13 pounds of marijuana and 130 grams of cocaine.

He was arrested on two class B felony charges of trafficking cocaine and marijuana.

Investigators also took a 22 caliber riffle that may be used as evidence before a grand jury.

When the narcotics team got to Moore’s house, the drugs were laying out in plain view in the kitchen area.

Street value of both the cocaine and the marijuana is $21,000.

"We've been receiving information on this individual, doing surveillances and other activities. This is the culmination of this investigation and the search warrant," says Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes.

Investigators say when they got to the house, Moore tried to leave out of the back door and make a run for it, but they apprehended him. He also was not home alone.

"There was a female there, but at this time, we did not connect her to any of the drugs. But as this investigation continues, we may find a connection," added Sheriff Hughes.

As the sheriff's office continues, it’s a never-ending mission to take drugs off the street; Sheriff Andy Hughes says every bust is a relief.

"I am very proud of our narcotics unit. This is a substantial amount of marijuana and cocaine here that they have gotten off the streets. These drugs will not be sold in Houston County and this individual will be put in prison. While he is there, he will not be selling drugs here," Sheriff Hughes concluded.

The last big marijuana bust performed by the Houston County Sheriff's Office resulted in a seizure of 40 pounds.

Moore's bond is set at $50,000 for each charge.

He could be facing up to 99 years in prison.

Investigators are looking into his background for any other criminal activity that could lead to other drug traffickers or dealers.

Investigators say they believe the drugs came from out of state.

They hope to come up with more evidence as this investigation continues.
