Alabama's Homeland Security’s Jim Walker made a stop in Dothan Monday. He met with representatives from 10 Southeast Alabama counties.

The federal government has allocated $37 million to Alabama for Homeland Security with about 25 percent of that money going directly to the counties.

Walker is meeting with local officials around the state to determine how they want to spend their money. Houston County officials plan to use their Homeland Security grant to install early warning sirens at strategic points throughout the county. Details of that plan are still being worked out.
