MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A tier one supplier to Hyundai Motor Company will expand its production facilities in Montgomery.

Governor Bob Riley said MOBIS Alabama will invest more than $55 million and add 141 new jobs. MOBIS already employs 825 workers.

Company executives joined Riley yesterday in announcing the projects.

South Korean-based MOBIS will increase the size of its redistribution center, plastic injection facility and paint shop.

The company manufactures cockpit modules and front and rear chassis modules.

Executives said the facilities will serve the Hyundai auto plant in Montgomery and the Kia auto plant under construction just across the state line in West Point, Georgia.

Construction will begin next month.
